I love New York Health and Racquet Club
Joining this gym was one of the best things I did when I moved to New York. It's slightly more expensive that the other gyms, but it's so worth it. It's just across the street from my apartment, really nice and clean, and the staff is super friendly.
Joining a good gym means you will go more often. This is key since people stop going after joining. I was going almost everyday at one point. I have a personal trainer. And walking down the block people who work at my gym will say hello. I love it. Then there's the booze cruise. I mean, NYHRC yacht. My gym owns a yacht. So random. Seems like one of those BS perks they list to get you to join, but it really is phenomenal. $25 for a 3 hour cruise, $25 for open bar. Rad. I've done it many times. Kate and I were walking to lunch today and heard some random dude yelling. Kate ignored it but I recognized the voice. "It's Ron, my trainer." Sure enough, Ron was yelling at me since he hasn't seen me in months (since I've been in Boston). "Wednesday at 3!" he barks at me. Sure Ron, whatever. Kate and I go to the gym later in the day and I see this new sign, "Ask about our VIP unlimited juice bar!" Holy crap, sign me up. The juice bar at my gym is awesome. Kinda like Jamba Juice, but better. So I inquired. The dude hooked me up with an insane deal for 3 months of unlimited use which will pay for itself in 2 weeks easy. I'm like "Is it really unlimited?". Yes. "But you'll go out of business." Yeah it's a great deal. "I live across the street. I'll pop in for a free shake or protein bar 5 times per day." Yep. So awesome. I now have unlimited juices, shakes, protein bars, vitamin water, everything else a gym juice bar has, FOR FREE. Siiick. Thanks, NYHRC.
